Acceptance of Terms

Welcome to Affinago (the “Service”). These Terms of Service (“Terms”) form a legally binding agreement between you (“you”, “User”) and Christof Leuenberger, a sole proprietor based in Bern, Switzerland (“we”, “us”, “our”).

By accessing or using the Service at affinago.com, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you may not use the Service.

1. The Service

Affinago is a hobbyist-oriented cheese batch tracking application that allows users to record notes, logs, and images related to personal cheesemaking projects.

The Service is provided for informational and organizational purposes only.

2. Eligibility

• You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service.
• You must have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.
• You agree to comply with all applicable laws and regulations.

3. Accounts

To use certain features, you must create an account using accurate and complete information. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activities under your account.

You may not share your account with others or create multiple accounts.

4. Pricing

The Service is currently provided free of charge. Paid plans or additional features may be introduced in the future.

If paid plans are introduced, pricing and billing terms will be clearly communicated in advance.

5. User Content

You retain ownership of all content you upload to the Service, including notes, logs, and images (“User Content”).

By submitting User Content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, process, and display that content solely for the purpose of operating and improving the Service.

You are solely responsible for your User Content and for maintaining your own backups.

6. Hobbyist & Food Safety Disclaimer

Affinago is intended for hobbyist use only. The Service does not provide professional, commercial, medical, or food safety advice.

Cheesemaking involves biological processes and potential health risks. You are solely responsible for ensuring that your practices comply with applicable food safety standards.

We make no representations or warranties regarding the safety, suitability, or legality of any cheesemaking activities documented using the Service.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse the Service. In particular, you may not:

• Use the Service for illegal or commercial food production purposes
• Upload harmful, misleading, or infringing content
• Attempt to disrupt or gain unauthorized access to the Service
• Use the Service to build or operate a competing product

8. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, software, and branding, is owned by Christof Leuenberger and protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

“Affinago” and associated logos may not be used without prior written permission.

9. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or if the Service is discontinued.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends immediately.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind.

We do not guarantee availability, accuracy, data retention, or error-free operation.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages, including loss of data, health issues, or food spoilage.

Our total liability shall not exceed the total amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

We comply with applicable data protection laws, including the GDPR for users in the EU and UK.

13. Governing Law & Venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of Switzerland.

Any disputes arising out of or relating to the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Bern, Switzerland.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by updating the date at the top of this page.

Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
